Kayode Akinkugbe is a seasoned finance professional with over 30+ years’ experience of successfully building businesses in the financial services sector, specifically across investment banking and asset management.
His most recent executive role was at the helm of FBNQuest Group (the investment banking and asset management businesses of First Holdco PLC), where he led the repositioning of several businesses into a full-service investment banking and asset management group, with a diversified and complementary portfolio of businesses and services.
His earlier career spans roles in leading global institutions including Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, HSBC & Ecobank, focused on originating and executing financing, investment and strategic solutions for clients operating across Africa.
He currently serves on the board of Leadway Pensure PFA, and has served on the boards of FBNQuest Merchant Bank (MD/CEO), FBN Capital (MD/CEO), FBNQuest Asset Management (Chairman), FBNQuest Funds (Chairman), FMDQ Securities Exchange Limited (Vice Chairman), Enterprise NGR, and on the EXCO of the Association of Issuing Houses (Vice President).
Kayode is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, and has attended several courses on corporate governance, leadership, strategic planning and human capital management, at renowned business schools including Wharton Business School, Cranfield School of Management and Lagos Business School.
He holds a BSc. in Economics from the University of Ibadan, an MSc in International Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Cranfield University.
